Oxford Road Baptist Church

Welcome to Oxford Road Baptist Church's website.  We are a church family  located close to the centre of Hartlepool, North East England.

As well as our Sunday services we have much going on during the week including a range of activities for children and young people, home study groups and a thriving community centre.

We look forward to seeing you at any of our services or activities during this year and hope you will find this website a useful place to find out more about us.

Our usual service times are 10.45am and 6.15pm each Sunday.  You will find our main entrance on Caledonian Road, Hartlepool, TS25 5LH

Richard Hetherington is our minister.  Married to Susan, they have 2 adult children, Philip and Sarah.  The family are originally from Northallerton but moved away when he began training to be a Minister.  On completion of his training Richard was invited  to pastor a church in Somersham, Cambridgeshire.  In September 2007 Richard moved to join us as Minister of Oxford Road.

Richard sees the Christian life as an exciting adventure and he is passionate about sharing that with people inside and outside the church.  He recognises that for many people life is not easy and sees the church as a family, a place where anyone can come and find love, support, encouragement and help.

He is clear about what is hopes are for the church, "I want the people in the local community to realise Oxford Road is a place where anyone can come, meet friends, and most importantly, discover the love that Jesus Christ has for them."
